| 11./12.10.2008 | 1. Luther Wölfe Cup Our dog Trainingclub the HSV Luthe e.V. held its first ever Obedience competition judged by Susi Huber (BLV) this weekend. On sunday Summer had her first Go in class 2 while Piper had his try in FCI- Obedience class 3. Both worked their way through with plenty of style and I was really pleased with them even though not everything was perfect - it just showed how close together 10 and 0 lie. Summer ended up with 238 pts and very good 3rd. Piper sorrily could not reach a pass today but collected well deserved 173,5 pts. This was an excellent end to our Obedience season anyway and we know what we have to work on during the winter, what means me practising throwing the dumpbell and working on my timing. |

in Bünde Piper had a lovely round in class 2 reaching 254,5 pts and Very good with a 0 in Distant controll. And Summer passing Beginner class with sensational 320 pts - full markes and Excellent. Now we will go on in class 1! Desiree Binner was competing the same day and she brought Piper- son Sky (Change the Sky the dog by my side) along; see some new pics of him under Pipelets.
We also met Ida (D&G Firlefanz) the HotDogs Bünde are the home Club of Heike and Volker; Heike was working as Obedience Steward today and Ida was alowed to sit in the entry tent together with Volker. Ida is tething badly at the moment, her puppy coat has gone completely and you already see that she is a proper Border Collie. See the new pic on her own site. |

| 12./13.07.2008 | Obedience competition at PHV Alstertal We had an excellent round on saturday resulting in 252,5 pts. and Very Good 1st sorrily with 0 pts. in the Retrieve (I was not able to throw the dumpbell properly). On sunday we missed around 40 pts. just because of double commands as Piper lacked concentration (Summer had her 13th day of the season, what Piper obviously noticed yesterday evening) and I did not give my commands as I do in Training. Something we really have to work on! We achieved 247 pts. and Very Good 1st in the end.
At least we can say that we are on the right go, Piper worked with good speed and drive and the judges comment: this dog can achieve everything! definitely made me smile widely ;-) |

Hildesheim We attended the first Obedience- Competition held by the Hildesheim Dog Training Club judged bei Judith Montag/Ger. Piper worked very well for me but sorrily produced another three 0 pts. in the stays and absolutely my fault also in the sendaway. Very important to me was that he did the sent perfectly and that his motivation was really really good resulting that he work with wonderful speed. In the end we passed with 208.5 pts. and Good. |

| 04.05.2008 | Obedience- training with Brigitte Lange Bettina, my Obedience Co- Trainer from our Dogtraining Club went to Bornum for a Training with Brigitte Lange today. I took Piper and Summer with me, but concentrated on training Piper as he has another competition coming up. After we did some stayes, that Piper failed during his last competition due to the fact that he has lots of respect of bettinas Danjo. It was obvious that he did not feel comfortable sitting so close to Danjo but we worked on his courage. After that we first worked on the Halt, turnes and changes of tempi in the Heelwork. Piper's Heelwork already is quite good but there is always something to improve in Obedience ;-) After that we trained to improve the distinction between the different positions out of Heelwork as Piper sometime mixes up the sit and down. During a second session we concentrated on the sendaway and the correct position inside the square and finished with some distance control, as it was quite warm and we have been training for 2 1/2 hours already quite a challenge. It was a really enjoyable afternoon and we got some more ideas how to train certain things. I am sure this will be repeated soon. |
